Bury Court Barn

The wedding breakfast will be held at Bury Court Barn, a beautiful barn surrounded by stunning gardens near the village of Bentley in Hampshire.

Bury Court

Many of you will be travelling to and from Bury Court Barn on the coach and so the only directions you need will be to the bar but for those of you wishing to make your own way please follow the details below:

Directions From The A31

Bury Court Barn is about 3-4 minutes’ drive from the A31 and is 4 miles south west of Farnham. Travelling south on the A31 take the exit to Bentley. Go into the old village of Bentley. At the crossroads go straight over into Hole Lane and out of the village. Up a fairly steep hill and into open countryside. Follow the road round a 90º right-hand bend (don’t go straight on) then before a 90º left hand bend go straight across into the drive of Bury Court. Park underneath the large Horse-Chesnut tree and walk straight down through the black railing gates.

The Wedding Breakfast

On arrival at Bury Court Barn you will be free to wander the spectacular gardens during the drinks reception, the gardens were designed by Piet Oudolf and are maintained as show gardens by the owners John & Suzanne.  Therefore, after the drinks reception the show gardens will be closed to guests but the large outdoor area next to the barn will be open all evening for you to get some fresh air, weep or just walk of some of the alcohol induced queasiness.

For those of you who don’t know John, Sarah’s Father, he was a fireman. The barn is, well, made of wood.  Apparently wood has properties that make it rather attractive to flames and as we are keen for John to enjoy his evening without having to come out of retirement then we ask that you do not smoke inside the barn, there is plenty of room outside for your bad habit!

Your children will be very welcome to join us at the reception and we would be delighted to see them.  However, Bury Court Barn is not particularly suitable for youngsters under the legal drinking age.

There is plenty of parking for those of you who are driving to the venue although we recommend using the coach so that we can assist you properly in avoiding dehydration due lack of alcohol.

Please note that Bury Court Barn does not offer any accommodation.  We recommend staying in Yateley.  We will be providing transport between St. Swithun’s and the reception.  There will also be transport in the evening returning to Yateley.

Please visit out travel and accommodation pages for more details.
